Jellycat Bartholomew Bear, Medium

Why it's exciting

Jellycat plush has turned into something people collect at every age, from baby gifts to teenagers lining up characters on a shelf. Bartholomew is the brand's best-known bear: a soft, slightly slouchy brown bear with a friendly face that does not look like a cartoon. The medium size is easy to hug and travels well. It is machine washable, which parents of small children appreciate, and Jellycat lists it as suitable from birth. Because Jellycat makes so many characters, it is a gift that leaves room for the next one. Fakes do circulate, so buy from Jellycat, a department store or a known toy shop.
